They gave us a lot of sides, the kimchi is the best kimchi I’ve had in awhile. It was more on the sweet side and didn’t have that over powering vinegar taste when compared to a jarred kimchi. They give you so many side dishes which we loved and ate them all up and they give you a small fried fish as well! And they even put water into our stone rice pots so we could eat it later.

We are always grateful for suggestions for new locations and interest in BCD’s growth. Our family always looks carefully before making any decision to open new locations so that we can best represent our top notch taste, quality, and service to all our fans. Please check our “Locations” page for more details on your nearest BCD branch. The Bibimbop was good and reminded me of food served on Kim’s convenience from Netflix.

The staff was great, saw we were out of Kim chee and immediately asked if we wanted more. I went with a group of 6 and we decided to order family style. We got three of the entree combos (galbi, spicy chicken, and teriyaki chicken) and seafood pancake. Mrs. Lee’s years of perfection in her craft and secret recipes continue to be maintained as to her exact orders to this day. BCD was inspired by a passion to spread Korea’s wonderful cuisine around the world. With Mrs. Lee's vision, BCD continues to focus on its taste, health benefits, food quality and much more.

Being our first time here, we had no idea that the meal comes with a choice of tofu soup. We both ordered the seafood tofu soup and adjusted the spiciness level. The BCD story starts with Hee Sook Lee a first generation Korean immigrant who loved to cook and share with her family. Her mother-in-law owned a restaurant in “Bukchang Dong” (district in Korea, which BCD is named after), where Mrs. Lee gained early training in the Korean food industry.

If you're going to be spending hours "singing" songs from Wicked and Les Mis while drinking bottles of soju in K-Town, it's probably not a great idea to do all that on an empty stomach. So start your night at BCD Tofu House (a mini-chain that started in LA) on 32nd Street for a spread of banchan, hot stone bibimbap, and one of their signature tofu stews. There might be a wait when you get here, but the two-story space is large, and they usually do a good job of getting parties in and out. Because the menu has a lot of options, this is an ideal place to go when you know you're in the mood for Korean food, but you're not quite sure what you want to order. If you're hungry after your karaoke night—and, let's face it, you will be—you can come right back here because they're open until 3am on Fridays and Saturdays.
We came to BCD Tofu house since the weather has been cold lately and my friend wanted some tofu soup. The meats were all high quality (can tell a difference between this and something like Red Palace). The short ribs were super tender and flavorful, fatty of course.
I’ve tried the seafood pancake, galbi, raw seasoned crab & the tofu soup here and they are all phenomenal. Honestly the food here is beyond comforting and I know that if I ever get heartbroken BCD is the first place I’ll go, crying over a bowl of sizzling hot soondooboo. Mixed rice & vegetables in Hot-Stone bowl served with Assorted Soon Tofu. My friends ordered different variations of the tofu soup, but I got the E8 Hot Stone Bibimbap, with Beef. All of the orders came with your typical standard side dishes and a piece of fried fish.
Restaurant Description
I mixed up the entree and I like how there were crispy rice pieces as a contrasting texture. I love that all the regular entrees all come with Soon tofu soup and of your choice! My daughter loved their bulgogi, it was moist and full of flavor. I enjoyed their Mackerel along with the complimentary banchan, side dishes included pickled veggies and Kim chee.
Some are open 24 hours a day, for those who work odd hours or for young people hungry after a night on the town and craving Ms. Lee’s secret soondubu or other Korean dishes on the menu. She spent long nights developing her secret recipe for Korean tofu soup, a dish that became a phenomenon while her restaurant grew into a chain. Due to the love and attention of our customers, we are always fielding questions about expanding to new locations. At this time, BCD does not operate on a franchise model as we are a family run business nor do we have any future plans to do so.
Hee Sook Lee’s recipe for soondubu, a steaming bowl of soft tofu in a spicy, bright-red beef bone broth, was so secret, she wouldn’t even share it with her husband. Visit one of our locations spread throughout the Tri-State Area. Visit one of our locations spread throughout Orange County.
After immigrating to America, Mrs. Lee chose to focus on Soon Tofu among thousands of other Korean foods, due to its superb taste and health benefits. She had a vision to be successful in America, and built her dream one bowl at a time. Her legacy continues on everyday through the efforts of her hardworking staff who put in all her traditions and recipes into each meal served. Mixed rice & vegetables served with Assorted Soon Tofu.
